Stacking the Shelves #29

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by TYNGA'S REVIEWS that features the books we bought, borrowed, were gifted, and were given for review.

One and Only
The Freedom of Having an Only Child, and the Joy of Being One
by Lauren Sandler

If you didn't already know, I am expecting my first child in a few short months. I'm in my late 20's so I still have some time to have more children but I don't know if that will ever happen so we might have just the one child, at least for a few years. I am not an only child (I have 5 siblings!) and I definitely don't know what being an only child is like so I hope to find some insight into parenting a single child through this book.

What did you stack your shelves with this week?

  1. Congrats on your new addition! I'm an only child, and I feel like I have a closer bond with my parents because of it. I'm an introvert, and I got bored some and wanted a brother or sister growing up, but now I'm glad it was just me. :) I hope that book gives you some of the answers you're looking for!

    Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Thank you! There were times when I wished I didn't have any siblings (we weren't very nice to each other) but it was fun to have sisters to play with. :)

  2. Congratulations on your new baby! I myself have two siblings (one sister and one brother), and I am the blessed mommy of three boys. Books are always awesome (right?), but what helped me the most was my own mother's advice and of course, you figure things out too!

  4. Ooo, I've never heard of this one. Great subject matter though. CONGRATULATIONS ON THE UPCOMING BABY!! I feel you about the children thing though - it's tough being a woman and not having a long time to (healthily) have children. HOWEVER. What will be will be! :)

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

    1. Thank you! The statistics say that more women wait til their late 20's - early 30's to have children these days. I wish it could have happened a lot sooner but now is as good a time as ever! :)
