Read It First: Book to Movie Adaptations (2018+)

New year, new adaptations!
I love keeping up with these because I do prefer to read the book first and this really helps me stay up to date on what is coming out in the future so I can squeeze it onto my TBR.

I did not keep up with my goals last year but I'm hoping I can fit in at least 10 adaptations this year.

Do you read the book before watching the movie adaptation? Know of any upcoming adaptations that aren't on this list? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I'm totally ready for The Death Cure- can't wait! Ophelia has me curious with Daisy Ridley in it, and Peter rabbit? I didn't know about that one! How fun.

    1. I feel like I've been waiting forever for The Death Cure! I agree about Ophelia. I've always enjoyed Shakespeare, though. :D

  2. I'm so excited for the Peter Rabbit movie. It looks fantastic and James Corden has a GREAT voice for animation. I need to read some of these like Good Omens. I'm so pumped for Love, Simon. Should probably re-read that one if I can though since it's been awhile. Another would be Call Me By Your Name - I really want to read the book again but it comes out in like two weeks so I don't know if I'll have time because I'm DYING to see the movie. I read the book years ago though and really loved it.

    1. There was a version of Peter Rabbit that I watched as a kid that had a song called 'Perfect Day' at the beginning and end. I adored it so much but I'm definitely looking forward to this new one as well for my daughter's sake. We haven't gotten around to reading these books yet though so that's a must! :)

  3. Thanks for this list!! I'm actually participating in a readathon this year where I have to read and then watch movie adaptations; this helps a lot!

    1. That's fantastic! I'll have to check that out for future challenges. I base a lot of what I read around adaptations! :)
