Sunday Post #55 - Spring Forward

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer
It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things you received, share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead, and more.

Does anyone else feel like daylight saving time is going to throw off their Sunday?
We lose an hour, right? Or do I have that backward?
One less hour of reading. One less hour of sleeping.
I suppose it doesn't really matter because it's Spring and it's freaking gorgeous out.

Our week has been full of strawberries!
I canned strawberry jam for the first time but I must have done something wrong because it's more like strawberry syrup. It will be amazing on icecream and pancakes, though! I forgot to take pictures of everything but here's a picture of last year's strawberry shortcake because, let's face it, I just don't have time to slice strawberries all pretty like that with a toddler hanging on me. And trying to take a photo would be disastrous. Imagine the sticky syrup stains everywhere.

A week later and we still have strawberries left, even after lots of shortcake, making jam syrup and fruit leather, yogurt pops, strawberry lemonade by the gallon, and my toddler eating a bowl of them everyday. I might just need to freeze the rest for the future.

New To My Shelves

What You Might Have Missed
It was a busy week for me so I didn't get much blogging done but I did post a Can't Wait Wednesday. I also shared my reviews for the graphic novel version of Outlander called The Exile by Diana Gabaldon and Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick

Books I Finished This Week
It has been a slow reading week.

My toddler accidentally discovered Jurassic Park this week and now she's obsessed. I know, I know, those movies are kind of violent at times but I try to fast forward through anything scary. She started out loving that everyone is a 'doctor' and now she's all about that T-Rex. I'm just waiting for her to start stomping around and roaring.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

    1. I realized it's even more difficult with a toddler! But I am looking forward to some summer activities. :)

  2. I like your new books this week. Especially Skeleton Man. Me and my scary reads. LOL I stopped at the local market and grabbed a bunch of fresh strawberries. Now to get them all ate! And I forgot about the time change. I really don't know why they still do it.

  4. Daylight savings sort of threw off my Sunday, since I was so used to waking up to darkness during the mornings.

  5. Okay, have you tried just pitting the strawberries, laying them neatly on a cookie sheet and freezing them? I have an upright freezer and that's what I do with fresh strawberries every year so I have them for smoothies later (pop them in frozen - yum!). When they're frozen, just toss them in a freezer ziploc for later.

OMG - your toddler likes Jurassic Park?!?!?! CRAZY!!! And hysterical, too!

Great new books this week! Mask of Shadows caught my eye but I'm waiting to see about that one :) And I hope you're liking The Dragon's Price (crosses fingers!).

Have a great week!! *stomp stomp*

  6. LOL about Jurassic Park. And I personally hate the time change- for some reason I always have a hard time adapting. No idea why although losing an hour doesn't make me happy. :)

Mask of Shadows has an amazing cover, and A Gathering of Ravens- just love that title!
