The Sunday Post - 2020 Week 18 - Hey May

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer
and is a chance to share news, both new and old!

Hey there, bloggers!

I honestly don't know where April went. It's possible that everything going on has gotten to me and I've lost time. It's all a bit foggy now.

There's a lot more talk of 'opening up' this week and while I get that everyone wants their haircuts and whatnot, the cases are not dwindling. It's frustrating that this may turn into a second wave and I still have to deal with the threat of it daily despite that I'm not going anywhere.
And I'm so tired of seeing the 'don't live in fear' rhetoric.
I don't live in fear. I'm just a hermit at heart.
Staying home saves lives. Let's keep that curve flat.

In other news, I finally jumped on the big project bandwagon, not really voluntarily, and started to move my little library and the thousands of books in it to a bigger room on the other side of the house. Which meant emptying, cleaning, and organizing both. I've moved about two tall shelves worth so far. Too many more to go. Wish me luck!

We were able to harvest cucumbers, banana peppers, and pole beans from the garden this week. The tomatoes are starting to turn red and we have a few squash now as well. I also got some sweet potato slips planted!

What I'm Watching:
Turns out I never finished You, season 2 so I wrapped that up earlier this week.

What I'm Listening To:
Lover Chanting by Little Dragon
This video is pretty cool. It's like a RPG game but with cosplayers.

Have a great week! Stay safe!

  1. Yeah, our state is apparently opening up tomorrow, but the county and city I live in, isn't. I've been working all this time so it really just feels like business as usual. Though I am dying to be able to go to a few stores to walk around like I used to! Lol.

Hope you enjoy your reads for this week!

    1. I really miss my solo book hunts! Fortunately, I have enough books to hold me over for a few lifetimes! :)

  2. Yeah I don't care what the state or county say, I'm staying home. The cases are still increasing. You are really having great garden success! We just have lettuce, spinach and chard. It's way too early for tomatoes here.

Take care, be kind and sensible!

    1. Our garden is doing surprisingly well! The weather changes from year to year and have had the rain and sun kill off my crops in the past so I feel lucky this year! :)

  3. My state is opening up, but I’m not going anywhere. I don’t want to be responsible for spreading the virus. Have a great week!

    1. Same! I'm glad staying home is tolerable with all these books and plants!
Have a great week, AJ! :)

  4. I feel the same way about opening up too soon and people not taking this seriously. It's very disheartening. We had some absolutely ridiculous protests in Michigan this week and people even brought assault rifles into the state Capitol. Never seen anything like it.

Anyway Roald Dahl- i have fond memories of reading him as a kid. :)

    1. Oh those protests... smh.
Roald Dahl is so fun! I'm hoping to read more of his books to my kiddo soon! :)
Have a great week, Greg! Happy reading!

  5. Fantastic Mr. Fox is one of our favorites! It's also my husband's favorite movie. I'm pretty sure he can quote the entire thing from start to finish.

People are dumb. No one is holding your barber hostage, Karen. Staying at home literally saves lives, and people are out there protesting in large groups, going to the beach, and just generally being idiots. The people claiming it's a hoax are the worst. Like, really? REALLY? Factual evidence means nothing to you? Ugh, I could rant about this for ages.

  6. Staying home saves lives, but not working makes you hungry if you have no money for food. So I can see both sides of the story. I am pretty much a hermit at heart but I also like going out now and then.

You got some great books! Enjoy!

  7. The protests with assault riffles make me so mad! Really? Staying home has helped save lives and you want to bring you gun out and threaten the Governor because she did the right thing? I really hope if they get covid they stay home and don't burden people like me working at the hospitals overwhelmed by this virus because of their selfishness. Sorry for the rant.

You're having great success in your garden! My tomatoes are still green, but are growing like crazy. Zucchini and peppers are too! I'm so excited.

I'd like to watch Poldark. Didn't know it was a book series.

  8. I'm definitely a hermit at heart as well. I can definitely see both sides to opening but the problem is that so few people act with common sense and so many aren't following the Shelter in Place orders much less the looser orders. It's maddening! That's fabulous about your garden! Have a great week!
