The Sunday Post #18 - Happy Mother's Day!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer
It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things you received, share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead, and more.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!
I've been MIA from the blogosphere this week because it was hubby's vacation. We went to the zoo and the beach. Our beach day ended up being overcast so we had it all to ourselves for a couple of hours before it started raining. We also finished painting the house and did a lot of gardening and yard work. We like to stay productive because there's just so much to do and so little time to do it all alone.
With being so busy, I missed out on a lot of posts this week. I forgot to get my Stacking the Shelves together, again, and I've accumulated quite a bit in the past 2-3 weeks so next week's STS should be pretty full. I wish I could say that I'll be all caught up soon but Bout of Books 16 starts tomorrow and I plan on reading as much as possible so I'll be lucky to fit in some time to write reviews.
As for today, I will just be enjoying my time with my daughter and husband and eating a nice homemade dinner with a movie to finish it off. I hope you all have a wonderful week!

New Children's Books We Read This Week

What I'm Currently Reading

(physical book)
The Book of Lost Things (Mister Max #1) by Cynthia Voight
I'm almost done with this old ARC that I never got around to reading. This will be my first book for the Clean Sweep ARC challenge. Kind of slow progress so far but I hope to read a lot more this week!

(ebook)
The Glass Castle by Trisha White Priebe
A Netgalley ARC. It has an intriguing premise. All 13 year old orphans are supposed to be 'destroyed' but instead are being hidden away in the castle right under the King's nose.

What I've Watched

The 5th Wave
We rented this out of the RedBox and I wasn't impressed. When I read the book I remember thinking that it would make a pretty awesome movie but I passed on watching it a second time when Hubby offered. It was just 'meh.'

Bones
I've had Netflix for years but I'm not really into crime / cop shows so I never bothered with this show until recently. Maybe it's just my preferences but there doesn't seem to be anything good on Netflix anymore. I am enjoying this show a little bit though.

------------
How was your week? Anything good happen? If you are a mom, did you get any time to relax?

  1. Hi Stacy and it sounds like you've had a busy week - though a mixture of chores and fun stuff!

I'm the opposite to you and a big fan of cop shows (well, some) but haven't watched Bones since season 2 or so. I think it's finishing up this year isn't it?

  2. You did have a busy week...I love Netflix binge-watching, and enjoyed the whole second season of Grace & Frankie yesterday...13 episodes. (Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin).

I also love The Newsroom (on Amazon Video).

Mad Men was last summer's passion on Netflix.

Thanks for sharing...and I recall reading Caps for Sale to my kids. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  5. Good luck with Bout of Books, and enjoy your day! Sounds like you had a relaxing week. I'm the same way with Netflix- having caught up on all the sci fi shows I liked, I'm having a hard time finding anything good on netflix. The last few ones I've tried haven't been very good...

I kinda wanted t see The 5th Wave but wasn't sure, so that's good to know. I've heard it wasn't great...
