The Sunday Post #20

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer
It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things you received, share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead, and more.

We had a pretty bad storm earlier this week. The neighbors tree fell in our yard. It's sitting on the fence so technically still in their yard but all the branches are in mine. Luckily, they missed the house by half a foot! Problem is that the neighbors are seasonal (Bluebirds, as we call them) and just left last week and we don't own a chainsaw! It's still just sitting there and I honestly don't know what I'm going to do about it even though it's blocking me from traveling from my front to back yard unless I go through the house. Even worse, my house was struck by lightning and my internet box was fried so I went without internet or phone service for two days. Add a hubby with some mystery illness, a teething toddler, and a migraine that hasn't gone away in 5 days and you can easily see that I haven't had the best week. I have high hopes that things will get better this week though.

Books I Finished This Week

New Children's Books We Read This Week
I still haven't added any books recently even though we've been reading a ton.

What I'm Currently Reading

I am still reading Winter.  It's just been a very unproductive week for me and I've had very little time to read. Hopefully I can power through it this week and get back on track so I can finish more of my TBR and start a buddy read with my sister.

  1. Ugh, it sounds like a shocking week Stacy! As for the tree I guess it's the neighbour's responsibility but if they're away can it wait for their return?

As for the lightning striking your place - that's really scary!

  2. Yikes that is a rough week! Hope this one is better. I think a lot of times seasonal travelers have someone watch their house, so it's possible a family member will come by to get mail? Maybe you could talk to them, if you catch them, or just cut the branches- they would probably understand since it's blocking access to your back yard! I have a similar problem, my neighbor has big trees and after a storm I always have branches (some quite large) in my yard. Sigh. :) He's cool about cutting stuff back though...

Anyway good luck and have a good week!

  3. Oh wow. Sorry you've had such a tough week. The tree is a hassle. You might need to see if a neighbor has a chainsaw you can borrow. Not sure how else you can get it taken care of. I had lightning strike my house once and fried almost everything electronic. Luckily I had insurance or I never could have replaced all of it. Hoping you have a more normal week ahead:)
