The Sunday Post #21 - Getting Ready for June

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer
It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things you received, share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead, and more.

Not much of anything has happened on the home front since that storm last week. I've been working on getting that fallen tree cleaned up, branch by branch.
This week I've been trying to focus more on blogger interaction. I've been forgetting to link up and haven't had time to reply to comments lately so I'm taking the time to do that and also visiting a lot of other blogs and commenting. I'm probably falling short, as always, but I'm trying. It only takes a few days to get super behind on everything so I'm trying to catch up before June begins.

Books I Finished This Week

New Picture Books We Read This Week

What I'm Currently Reading

(ebook)
Lady Susan by Jane Austen
It's been years since I read any Austen and this one has been sitting on my Kindle for far too long. It's super short so I'm sure I will finish quickly if I make the time for it.

(physical book)
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman
I'll be starting this one probably tomorrow. My sister requested to do a buddy read with me and pretty much left it up to me on what we would read. We are both big fans of Gaiman and haven't read this book (or any Pratchett) so I thought this might be a good choice. I'm looking forward to the discussions we will have.

Have a great [Memorial Day] weekend!

  1. I'm glad you're getting tidied up after the storm.

And I know what you mean about getting behind easily. I wasn't well this past week and didn't do any blog reading or writing all week and am SO behind!

    1. I sincerely hope you feel better soon so you can get back to what you love! It really is so easy to get behind, especially for reasons like that!
Thank you for stopping by! :)

  2. I know what you mean on getting behind, I was hoping to use the long weekend to get caught up on bloggy things, but I keep finding myself procrastinating. Oh well, I'll get it done sooner or later. Have a great week.

    1. I have high hopes that it's as good as everything else I've read by Neil Gaiman. This will be my first time reading any Pratchett but I know a lot of people love his books. :)

  5. How did you enjoy Winter? I think it's my favorite of the series. The Monster at the End of This Book is a staple in our house. My little man loves it! He's starting to read on his own, but he's had this book memorized for a while now. It cracks me up! He tries to do all the voices :) Have a great week!

  6. I can relate with getting behind. I am finally caught up on my blog reading and can start to focus on commenting again! I was almost a week behind for a while there.

I really want to read the Lunar Chronicles series, so I'm looking forward to your review of Cress.

    1. The Lunar Chronicles seems to be a hit or miss series. I enjoyed Cinder even though I thought I wouldn't while people I know thought they would enjoy it but didn't.

  7. It is so easy to get behind, I am trying to catch up on commenting and visiting whilst making sure to post! I try not to beat myself about it though!

I can't wait to get back in to the Lunar Chronicles, I have only read Cinder, the other books call to me!!

    Have a great week.

  8. Yikes, a fallen tree doesn't sound fun :-/

It is so easy to fall behind on blogging/commenting though, isn't it? And then it just reaches the point that it gets overwhelming so you postpone it even more lol. Good luck getting caught up, and enjoy your books!

  9. Ugh, storm clean up. Just crank up some Rammstein and it'll go faster. :D That's cool you and your sister will buddy read that book. Hope you enjoy all your upcoming reads!

  10. Oh gosh, falling behind happens so easily! I'm still catching up since I took a break when I first got home for a visit!
I haven't read Good Omens (yet) so I'm super excited to see what you think of it! And I need to read Lady Susan too - I've been meaning to as well ;)
Good luck with the fallen tree, that sounds kind of stressful!
