Stacking The Shelves #3

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews that features the books we bought, borrowed, were gifted, and were given for review.
First off, I'm going to explain that there are absolutely no bookstores anywhere near where I live. I also cannot purchase books online. So my resources are limited to thrift stores and Wal-Mart. (*sarcastic 'Yay'*). I also do not own a physical e-reader but I have recently downloaded the free Kindle For PC to my computer and even though I cannot purchase ebooks, there are tons of free books to choose from and I have also discovered the online ebook lending library that my local library offers through Overdrive. So where do I get my books? The majority of them come from thrift stores. I'm okay with that because secondhand books need love, too. :)
(9 books for about $3)

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
When the King Comes Home by Caroline Stevermer
Heir Apparent by Vivian Vande Velde
The Witchcraft of Salem Village by Shirley Jackson
The Descendants by Kaui Hart Hemmings
The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima
The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen
The Observations by Jane Harris
The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan
(Book 1 in the Heroes of Olympus Series)

Unfortunately, I haven't received anything since last Friday even though I am waiting on two separate packages. Hopefully they will come soon so I can be super excited and jump around the house and then tweet about it and share with you guys. :(

Let me know if you've read any of these books! What did you get in your mailbox this week?

  1. New follower. I hope you love all your new books. They look awesome. Come visit my blog as well.

  2. I've been meaning to start the Heroes of Olympus series... It looks so great! Hope you enjoy all your new books! :D

  3. My sister liked Heir Apparent! It's been a while since she read it, but she liked it. I haven't read it yet. And I liked The Lost Hero, for the most part! I haven't read the next book though. I'm so behind!

Hope you love all of your books and goodies! Have a lovely weekend :)

    Check out my STS post!

    1. My sister is a big fan of Vivian Vande Velde, too, but I've yet to read anything of hers!

  4. I read Heir Apparent a while back and it was really good! It's actually part of a series, so I'm hoping to pick up the rest. :)

  5. I love finding fun books at thrift stores-such great prices for a few hours of enjoyment! The Warrior Heir especially looks good. Enjoy all these!
    Here are my newest additions

    1. Yes! Thrift stores have been my best friends lately because the nearest bookstore is almost an hours drive away from where I live. I've probably saved a ton of money getting books for 50 cents, though. I'm really excited to read 'The Warrior Heir'. :)
