The Sunday Post #65 - Happy Father's Day!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer
It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things you received, share news about what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead, and more.

Happy Father's Day to any dads or father figures that may possibly read my blog!
COYER started today! I'm off to an ok start I suppose, but still need to finish my current audiobook which won't count for it.
Not much is new off the blog. It's still raining every day and I'm lucky if I get a tomato from the garden that hasn't cracked from all the extra water. I'm not complaining though because we really needed it after that drought.

NEW TO MY SHELVES
I've done a bit of thrifting this month. I found a copy of Rick Riordan's 'The Sword of Summer' in perfect condition.
Second batch is mostly children's books and children's classics. I've already read The Girl on the Train so I'll pass that on to my mom to read. I didn't even get around to taking pictures of the picture books I picked up for the lovebug but there were quite a few.

WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED
Can't Wait Wednesday - Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff
Graphic Novel Review: Redwall by Brian Jacques
Book Review: A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

COMING SOON
I updated my Books to Movies Adaptation List and will have that posted sometime this week! I'm kind of determined to knock some of those off my TBR so I can watch them eventually.

RECENTLY READ
This was so good! Review will be up later this week.

CURRENTLY READING

CURRENTLY LISTENING
I'm almost done with this. I have about 2 hours left. It was hard to get into at first but the ending is so good.

CURRENTLY WATCHING
We started the new season of Orange Is The New Black and I'm slowly making my way through Parks & Recreation when I can fit it in. I'm thinking about putting myself on a tv ban for a while though so I can focus on reading for COYER. I'm so behind on my goals right now so that's probably a good idea.

I hope you all have a lovely week! Happy Reading!

  1. Yeah, haha, it was raining all week here too. Didn't enjoy it too much.
A nice haul, and Nim's Island should be interesting :)
Ooh, listening to/reading The Bear And The Nightingale! I was lucky enough to be approved for that when it was an ARC. Loved it! Yeah, you're right, getting into it was a steep climb cause the book is just so slow. But I think this whole part is about setting up the story for the sequels. The new one comes out like... Sometime in autumn, I think. Haven't secured an ARC yet, unfortunately. Don't think they're out yet, so maybe it's okay :D

  3. I love it when I find a nice copy of something at a thrift store or used bookstore. Sorry to hear about the rain but sounds as if it's not entirely unwelcome? We got some much needed rain too after the lawns started turning yellow lol.

A Gathering of Ravens looks good. And good luck with COYER!

  6. I'm binging new episodes of Orange and Bloodlines while watching new episodes of Fear The Walking Dead and waiting on Preacher. It's a wonder I get any reading or reviewing done. LOL Somehow, I manage. Looks like quite the haul or great new reads for you. Enjoy!

  7. I need to catch up with Orange. I've been watching so many other things that I haven't had time to sit down and actually make my through last season or this current season. I've been meaning to read The Bear and the Nightingale so I definitely just put the audio on hold at my library. Great post!

  8. Hope you had a great Father's Day, Stacy - however you spent the day. I tried to read The Bear and the Nightingale a few months back and just couldn't get into it. I was so intrigued by the synopsis but it was so slow and just not grabbing me. Maybe I should try to audio version.
