Our Thoughts:
You're probably familiar with Eric Carle's colorful picture books and art style. He has given us The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Grouchy Ladybug, The Mixed-Up Chameleon, and many, many more wonderful books, all in his iconic style.
Eric Carle's Book of Many Things is a collection of over 200 'first words' paired with beautiful and colorful artwork to represent each one! The things in this book are split into 5 major categories; Things You See, Things You Eat, Things You Learn, Colorful Things, and Things About You.
A lot of the artwork that accompanies the words in this book are ones we (personally) are familiar with from previous Carle books, which made this a friendly and comfortable transition from listening to reading along and learning separate words.
The very back of the book has a full-page spread of the pictures shown throughout this book without the words so that children can test their memory!
