The Sunday Post - 2020 Week 2

The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer
and is a chance to share news, both new and old!

Hey there, bloggers!

I wish I could say that I am on track in the new year but we started off with a week-long vacation and have been off camping, hiking, and exploring new places! My health and fitness goals are right on track but I'll have to find more time to write!

did get the Christmas tree and other decorations squared away before the new year started and have done a lot of cleaning, airing out, and purging around the house to lessen some of the burdens throughout the year.
Up next, I'd like to do a full library cleaning and get all my shelves rotated (they droop in the middle if I don't flip them every 6 months or so!) and I've been seriously thinking about cataloging my books soon since I'm in the thousands and have a hard time keeping track of what I've already bought.

I'm joining in on an Instagram challenge (#betterreadschallenge) to read every single day again this year (I lost track halfway through the year in 2019) and so far I'm off to a good start even though I haven't had time to finish anything yet. I'm really enjoying my current reads, at least!

Currently Reading:

I won American Dirt from a Goodreads giveaway and am hooked! So good so far and I don't want to put it down!
Fighting for the Forest is my first nonfiction read of the year and I'm loving it! I read a lot of it while camping at a park built by the CCC which made it even more fascinating!

Chapter Books We've Finished Recently:

We're still on a Disney Princess kick but Little Women is up next!

Recently Posted Reviews:

We recently enjoyed Looking For Yesterday by Alison Jay, about a boy who goes looking for a way back to yesterday and the grandfather that shows him that the best days are ahead.

We could relate to the little bunny in I Wish It Would Snow by Sarah Dillard.

  1. Nicely done! Getting a book inventory sheet done can be soooo tedious and time consuming but it's sooooo worth it! I did mine in probably 2-3 weekends worth of working on it. I checked certain books for signatures and noted the type of book, hardcover, paperback--trade, mass, or the YA style paperback which I just left as paperback, lol! I even did separate tabs for international editions and classic editions--ones that basically have no chance of ever being signed! Lol. Now it's easy to keep it updated, I just have to remember to actually add new titles in which can be hard if I had a stretch of getting no new books for awhile!

    Here's my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. It's intense! I would have flown through it if it weren't for my current time constraints! I'm planning on losing sleep to read more tonight! :D

  3. Take it from me, as you catalogue yourself books, make a note as to which shelf it’s on. I really wish I had done this as most of my shelves are three deep and finding anything is a nightmare! I use BookCollectorz by the way - highly recommended it.

Wishing you a great reading week

    1. I will check out BookCollectorz! And that's a great idea! I'm always tearing apart my shelves to find specific books!

Thanks so much and have a great week as well! :D

    1. I was hesitant about The Witcher because I've seen so many people say it's confusing, but I've really enjoyed it so far!
      Have a great week! :D

  5. I think that's a great way to start off the year--having a bit of an adventure. :-) I won't mention that my Christmas decorations are still up. I meant to take them down last weekend, but it did not happen, sadly. A coworker told me that now I have to wait until February 2nd otherwise it will be bad luck to take them down. I don't think I'll wait that long though. LOL

I've heard such good things about American Dirt. I am glad you are enjoying it!

I hope you have a great week!

    1. Yes, the adventure started the year off on a good foot!
Keeping them up seems to be the trend! :D I read recently that the original superstition regarding the tree is to take it down before the new year but traditions and superstitions like that are so varied! I honestly usually leave mine up but I'm trying it different this year! :D

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week! :)
