Falling for Autumn Read-a-thon

Ner over at 'A Cup of Coffee and a Book' is hosting her very first read-a-thon!

“Falling for Autumn is read-a-thon where we welcome the Fall/Autumn by reading as many books as possible during a week. It’ll take place from September 22 to 28, with daily guest-posts, interviews, challenges and giveaways. Everyone is free to enter by signing-up and sharing the official blurb by leaving a link to this post on twitter, Goodreads or Facebook. For more information, please visit A Cup of Coffee and a Book

Sign-ups are open until September 24th!

------

I meant to get this post up sooner but my internet and phone have been down for the past 2 days! (The horror!) I had to have my provider come out and re-wire everything!

This will be the 2nd read-a-thon I've participated in this month! The last one just ended on Saturday and I reached my goal for pages read but not for amount of books read so hopefully I can do a little better this week! I have 6 books out from the library that I need to read in the next week or two so this is going to be continued motivation to just keep reading!

I am currently already participating in the month-long 'September is for Sequels' challenge so hopefully this read-a-thon will continue to motivate me to finish any sequel goals I put on myself. Plus I just really want to breeze through my TBR pile before September is over so I have all of October to read books from my spooky/horror-themed TBR pile!

There are 'challenges' for this read-a-thon, similar to those from the BookTube-a-thon which I participated in last year. You can choose which challenges you want to do and it's not necessary to do them all.

* Read a total of four (4) books;
* To read at least 150 pages per day;
* To read a book with an autumnal colour on the cover (red, orange, brown, gold);
* To read a book with a male protagonist;
* To read the first or last book in a series;

Because it's only a 6 day read-a-thon, I will try to read 4 books but I don't know if I will reach that goal.
 I will also try to read 150 pages per day.
I might read a book with a male protagonist.

I might read the first book in a series.
I most likely won't get around to reading an autumnal colored cover novel.

BOOKS I MIGHT READ

I'm currently 306 pages into 'Scarlet' by Marissa Meyer so I'll go ahead and finish that.

The Ifs by J.D. Pooker
(I need to read and review this soon!)

The Giver by Lois Lowry
(It's been over a decade since I read this but with the movie coming out, I'd like to re-read it and also, I need to read something for Banned Books Week!)

The other library books I have to read are:

Wonder by R.J. Pallacio
(I think this has a male protagonist.)

Tuesdays at the Castle by Jessica Day George
(This is the first book in a series)

Doll Bones by Holly Black

The Enchanted Castle by E. Nesbit

Stormbringers by Philippa Gregory
(second in a series)

All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill
(This one is also the first in a series)

Do you think any of those could count as an autumnal colored cover?

Hopefully I'm not getting in over my head and won't be too overwhelmed by keeping up with a read-a-thon just two days after my last read-a-thon. I just really want to stay motivated and participate as much as I can while I still have time to waste on sitting around reading all day.

  1. I think doll bones,order of darkness, and all our yesterdays would count. They said red and orange colors would count as Autumn colors.

    1. I was thinking the same thing even though there are just little bits of each. I was hoping to find something with a cover that screamed 'Autumn' but didn't have enough time to plan ahead! :)

    2. I didn't have time either! I'm using a cover with a orange sunset!

  2. Have fun with this read-a-thon!! Normally, I'd love to sign up for this read-a-thon, but just having completed the Tackle Your TBR Read-A-Thon, I think I need some down time. Good luck with your reading goals. :-)

    1. I should probably really take a break but I'm still flying high on all this motivation to get as much read as I can before I just don't have time anymore! I most likely won't get as much done as I hope but I'll try! :)
