Synopsis:
Part of a super fun middle-grade series, Awesome Achievers in Technology puts the spotlight on lesser-known heroes and their contributions in tech.

Everyone has heard the name Steve Jobs, but what about Nolan Bushnell--JOb's boss before the invention of Annie, and the founder of the first major video game, Pong? Many of the most relevant figures in tech history have remained in the shadows, but not any longer! From Alan Katz's new Awesome Achievers series, Awesome Achievers in Technology gives kids a look behind the scenes at 12 lesser-known inventors whose contributions to tech are personally relevant to their lives today. Each figure is given a traditional biography but is also subject to Katz's unique brand of silliness, with humorous elements such as imagined poems, song lyrics, and diary entries by and about the not-so-famous figure accompanying each bio.

My Thoughts:

Awesome Achievers in Technology shares 12 'almost famous' people who have changed the world with their technological contributions mixed with illustrations, humorous anecdotes, and lots of 'dad jokes'.

Some of the 'almost famous' persons include Nolan Bushnell who co-founded Atari (heard of Pong?) and gave us video game consoles, Nils Bohlin, the man who invented the 3-point harness seatbelt, Martin Cooper who invented the personal wireless telephone, Marie Van Brittan Brown who invented the first home security system, and more.

Katz included people that have invented or influenced a lot of the technological 'toys' that we use today such as game consoles, smartphones, etc but also includes some older inventions that we still use today!

Curious kids that love humor and jokes will enjoy this series!
